Winmis is a software which using external devices can do series of measures
in order to keep under control the quality parameters of a broadcasting system
over a particular geographical area.
It's available both in English language and Italian language.
The main objective of Winmis 2 is to have in only one product a way to
do very long sets of measures with geographical reference and to analyze all
the data collected in graphs and parameter estimation in order to better
compare the overall performance.
The steps in using the software can be roughly divided in two: data collecting
and data analysis.
Data collecting
This functionality has benn directly derived and then more implemented
from Winmis 1.
In a former step the software shall accept a list of parameters to monitor
as soon as the measure will start. Main enhanchement in this functionality is
the anility to use two different kinds of external devices, a former one esplicitly
intended for FM broadcasting systems, and a latter one designed to work in a large
range of frequencies (150kHz-1.3GHz).
Once filled in the task list, just start the measure, which will be autonome and will
not need the presence of the user, and which will do continuosly the task list. By having
a common GPS with serial interface, all the measures will be saved in the database
together with the latitude/longitude information. While the measure is in progress
there are some little graphs to better see how the measure evolves.
Some alarms can also be set in association to some parameter, in order to the software
alerts you with a sound or an email if you PC is connected to the internet, when something
strange has happened.
Data analysis
The very enhanchement of Winmis 2 is a better set of instruments for data
analysis.
Winmis 2 has an integrated map viewer to use the geographical data collected during
the measure.
Winmis 2 allows you to use external map files, both in the common UTM format or a simple
PNG image file which the user can have himself using some commercial cartographic
product.
The user can also view other kind of graphs, such as an histogram as a function
of the signal sthrength, an extended graph useful for viewing the shape of the
measure and a graph giving a grade to the measured broadcasting system.
These graphs can be printed all together in a single page with some personalized
parameter.

Other functionalities
With Winmis 2 you can exchange data to and from other software such as importing
data from Audemat or exporting to XML format, excel compatible and to ATDI Hertz Mapper.
